It was a memorable F1 Monaco GP for Max Verstappen, as the Red Bull driver leads the drivers' championship for the first time in his career after taking the chequered flag in Monte Carlo.
The result was made all the sweeter with Sergio Perez climbing up from ninth to finish fourth, with the team taking advantage of Mercedes' off day. Valtteri Bottas started second but was forced to retire, while Lewis Hamilton could only manage a seventh place finish, though he did secure an extra point thanks to his fastest lap in the race.
As a result Verstappen leads the drivers' championship with Red Bull now ahead of Mercedes in the constructors' ahead of the Azerbaijan GP on June 6.
