Daniel Ricciardo has been hit with a reprimand by British Grand Prix stewards after an incident in the pit lane during Free Practice 3
Ricciardo was forced to see the stewards for a pit lane infringement early in the final practice session for the British Grand Prix.
The session was red-flagged after just eight minutes after Pierre Gasly slid off the Silverstone circuit on the approach to Vale and beached his car in the gravel.
Returning to the pits, Ricciardo was shown weaving his way down the pit lane. Although seemingly in control of his car, it appeared as if the Australian came dangerously close on occasion to personnel from other teams working in their pit boxes.
The stewards have determined that there was a "risk that the weaving of Car 3 might have resulted in contact with these personnel, especially considering the wet conditions."
Ricciardo had decided to weave in the fast lane of the pit lane after his RB team instructed him to keep the tyre temperatures high, but acknowledged that his actions "were not a good look" and also assured the stewards that he would never repeat the actions.
The reprimand is Ricciardo's first of the season.
