Ian has enjoyed a long and storied career in sports journalism, covering the Olympics, World Cups, Premier League and Champions League, before focusing his attention on Formula 1.
Ian's first grand prix as a journalist was the 1997 French. He eventually became an FIA permanent pass holder in 2007, maintaining the honour for the majority of seasons through to the current campaign.
Overall, Ian has attended, in person, around 350 grands prix (he wishes he knew the exact number!), and is well on his way to 400 with RacingNews365.
Ian has previously worked with such renowned establishments as The Press Association and Autosport. Since 2017, he has also served as the lead F1 feature writer for The New York Times.
