Free Practice 2 for the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix is the most representative session of the weekend for drivers heading into qualifying and the race.
The session is held in the twilight/night conditions that qualifying and the race will be, with both FP1 and FP3 held in day-light conditions.
As such, these sessions are more often focused on car balance as opposed to any race pace simulations owing to the change in temperatures.
In FP1, it was Mercedes' George Russell who topped the session, with 10 rookie drivers taking part.
The likes of Lewis Hamilton and Max Verstappen both gave their cars to fulfill their mandatory young driver slots, to Frederik Vesti and Jake Dennis, respectively. They will return for FP2.
