Alpine's Esteban Ocon ended the final day of on-track Formula 1 running in 2023 fastest in the post-Abu Dhabi Grand Prix test. In the one-day event that doubled up as a Pirelli tyre test and young driver test, the field was split between regular race drivers such as Ocon, Charles Leclerc, Carlos Sainz and George Russell while the young drivers involved including Formula E champion Jake Dennis and new F2 champion Theo Pourchaire. In a largely quiet day, the only incidents were a brief delay to a water leak under the hotel, while Russell crashed after a component failure on the W14. He was unscathed, but his running ended early, as did Isack Hadjar's in the AlphaTauri with a suspected engine failure. Ocon posted a 1:24.393 for the fastest time, with Sainz having topped the morning session.
