Kevin Magnussen has become the first F1 driver to trigger a race ban after reaching 12 penalty points in the Italian Grand Prix.
For a collision with Pierre Gasly at Turn 4, the stewards handed him two points as well as a 10-second time penalty as he finished 10th.
It means Magnussen will be benched for the Azerbaijan Grand Prix in two weeks' time after becoming the first racer to reach the mark since the system was introduced in 2014.
Magnussen was racing under the threat of a ban since picking up five penalty points in Miami earlier in the year, taking him to 10, knowing that he had to tread water carefully with his next set of points not due to come off until March 9th, 2025.
Each penalty point remains on a driver's licence for 12 months, with a ban being triggered when a driver reaches 12 points.
Elsehwere at Monza, Daniel Ricciardo picked up one penalty point for colliding with Nico Hulkenberg, taking his tally to three, whilst Hulkenberg earned two for then colliding with Yuki Tsunoda at Turn 1, putting the RB out.
It takes Hulkenberg to four for the 12 month period.
The full list of driver penalty points and when they are next scrubbed from a driver's licence is available below.
