Ferrari team principal Frederic Vasseur has stated he is “pleased” Carlos Sainz has penned a deal at Williams.
Sainz's Ferrari exit was confirmed earlier this year after the Italian outfit announced the signing of Lewis Hamilton for 2025.
Sainz has been linked with several F1 projects ever since, before settling on Williams alongside Alex Albon who is also secured on a multi-year contract.
Ferrari released a brief statement following the news, with Vasseur highlighting: “I am pleased that Carlos will be joining Williams Racing from next season.
“It's a team with a great history and legacy, founded by an enlightened man with an ambitious vision, so l know Carlos will feel at home there.
“I have great respect for James and I am sure Carlos will make a valuable contribution to his team.
“For now, Carlos is still very much a Ferrari driver and, over the remaining ten races we will all be working hard, focusing on our goals, fighting together for every single point until the very last lap of this championship.”
Sainz won the Australian Grand Prix earlier this year with Ferrari, and has four further podiums to his name so far this season.
