George Russell finished fastest in first practice for the Hungarian Grand Prix as rain and red flags disrupted proceedings.
The Mercedes driver set a benchmark of a 1:38.795 as the track evolved following a rain shower to finish 0.359secs faster than McLaren's Oscar Piastri.
Lance Stroll was third for Aston Martin ahead of the second McLaren of Lando Norris.
Fernando Alonso was fifth fastest ahead of Valtteri Bottas and Charles Leclerc, with Zhou Guanyu, Logan Sargeant and Nico Hulkenberg rounding out the top 10 in unrepresentative conditions.
Max Verstappen chose not to set a time despite venturing out of the pits, whilst teammate Sergio Perez crashed out of the session in the opening five minutes.
Lewis Hamilton also declined to set a lap time.
