Zhou Guanyu caused a red flag for the second time during the Canadian Grand Prix weekend after crashing at Turn 2 during final practice.
The Stake F1 driver found himself in a spin after losing the rear of his car through the opening corner.
He then skated across the track and into the barrier on the exit of the second corner, which runs beside the pit lane.
Race Control opted to red flag the session with just over five minutes gone off the clock.
The crash is Zhou's second of the weekend after he hit the barrier at Turn 5 during the opening practice outing.
After impacting the wall, an injured Zhou reported over the team radio: “I have no idea what's happening with the car. The car is so strange man, it just locks up all the rears.”
