Guanyu Zhou News

Guanyu will enter his third year in Formula 1 in 2024 and will drive for Stake F1 Team, which was previously Alfa Romeo Racing. He scored a total of 6 points within the 2023 season. His teammate, Valtteri Bottas, scored 10 points that season. Will the Chinese F1 driver be able to score more points in the 2024 season?

Zhou F1

Guanyu Zhou is Formula 1's first Chinese racing driver, as he steps up to race with Alfa Romeo in 2022. He has been part of the Alpine Academy, and has carried out numerous tests at the wheel of Alpine's F1 cars in 2020 and 2021.

Zhou F2

Zhou raced in Formula 2 in 2021, finishing third in the Drivers' Championship. He won four races in total across the season, scoring nine podiums and 183 points.

Zhou debuted in single-seater racing with Prema Racing in 2014, competing in the Italian F4 Championship and the ADAC Formula 4 Championship. 
 

His first big championship result was second place in the 2015 Italian F4 Championship, before stepping up to Formula 3 with Motopark in 2016. He raced in that championship for three years, swapping to Prema in 2017. His best championship result was eighth in 2018, but he still progressed to Formula 2 in 2019.

Over his three seasons in F2, he raced with UNI-Virtuosi and climbed the ranks from seventh in the standings in 2019 to sixth in 2020, before his third-place finish in 2021.

Zhou raced his last Formula 1 season in 2024

The 2024 season was far from smooth for Stake F1 Team due to an uncompetitive car. The team managed to score only four points, all earned by Guanyu Zhou at the Qatar Grand Prix. Unfortunately, the Chinese driver's contract was not renewed, marking the end of his Formula 1 career.
