Which race should be dropped from the F1 calendar?

Which events and venues are included on the F1 calendar is a well-covered talking point, but RacingNews365 asks which round should be removed from the schedule.

The F1 calendar is often a contentious issue for those working in F1 and for fans of the championship alike.

To the former, the length and intensity of the now 24-round slate is at the limit of what is acceptable, and realistically feasible, whilst the latter sometimes takes issue with some of the admissions - and omissions - onto the schedule.

The Monaco Grand Prix, although the so-called jewel in F1's crown, is perhaps the most controversial of all.

However, its recent extension until at least 2031 goes some way to placating the debate surrounding its inclusion on the calendar.

Meanwhile, the Spanish Grand Prix, currently held at the Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya is another round that has often found itself heavily criticised, both from those at the venue and those enjoying the action from afar.

With Madrid taking over the race from 2026, calls for it to be dropped are now redundant. But other less-than-fan-favourites still remain.

Karun Chandhok recently suggested the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix at Imola was in danger of becoming one of the proposed rotational events, advocating for a return of the German Grand Prix, which fell off the calendar for good at the end of 2019.

Similarly, the Malaysian Grand Prix, which last appeared in 2017 is often selected as an event fans would endorse the return of.

As for rounds that have seldom been well-regarded, the Miami Grand Prix has found itself the centre of scrutiny from F1 fans, with a clear and concerted focus on those in attendance.

Likewise, the season-ending Abu Dhabi Grand Prix has received harsh criticism for its underwhelming track action, although recent changes to the circuit has aided overtaking.
