Max Verstappen is "not thinking" about eclipsing Sebastian Vettel's tally of nine straight wins after equalling it during a chaotic Dutch Grand Prix. In dry-wet-dry-wet conditions at Zandvoort, World Champion Verstappen claimed his 11th win from 13 races this season and ninth in a row to match Vettel's record that was set in 2013. The win is Verstappen's third straight in front of his home fans in the Netherlands, and means he now has the opportunity to take the record outright during the Italian Grand Prix at Monza next weekend. But the Red Bull driver says he is not yet thinking about that possibility.
Verstappen's Vettel record
"I'll think about it next week," Verstappen said when asked if he was thinking about breaking the record. "The pressure is on to perform and of course, I am very happy with the win here. "It is incredible, it wasn't easy for us with the weather to make the right calls all the time, but I am incredibly proud. "I had goosebumps when they were playing the national anthem before the start, and even with the bad weather, the rain, the fans are still going at it so it is an incredible atmosphere."
