A plurality of RacingNews365 readers have backed Daniel Ricciardo to make a sensational return to F1 following his axe from RB.
After the Singapore Grand Prix, it was announced that Ricciardo would be dropped by the team for the final six races of the season to be replaced by Liam Lawson.
With that in mind, we simply asked what fans believed Ricciardo would do next in his career from a variety of options including retirement, Australian Supercars, NASCAR, IndyCar, Formula E, TV punditry or a return to the F1 grid.
From the 5,345 ballots cast, no one option received an outright majority, but a plurality of fans made their feelings clear.
Some 30.25% of total votes cast were for the 'return to F1 option', with a new career as a TV pundit receiving the second most at 23.05%.
Australian Supercars has been keen to have Ricciardo compete for a while, with 16.35% of voters believing he could be about to line-up at Bathurst some time soon. 12.22% felt Ricciardo would retire altogether.
However, one reader in particular felt that "none" was the best option.
"None of the above," wrote Feersumenjin.
"He sold out to be Dan Hollywood years ago so some weirdo sitcom is in the future. Picture a "Friends" reboot but with discarded drivers as the stars. Liberty will no doubt put in a few megabucks just to fly the series into a whole new audience."
Meanwhile, fellow reader BeniHana felt that RB has mismanaged Ricciardo's exit - something alluded to by team principal Laurent Mekies and CEO Peter Bayer.
"The corporate CrashApp and its new management made things ridiculous and silly," wrote BeniHana.
"Should have made [it] public at the race weekend with a huge send-off for this fella."
