Jos Verstappen has once again appeared to shut down son Max's dream of the duo competing with each other at the Le Mans 24 Hours.

F1 world champion Max is open to the idea of competing in the twice-around-the-clock French endurance race in his post-F1 career, and is keen on the idea of racing alongside his father.

In September, the Dutchman revealed that his ideal line-up for Le Mans would be Nyck de Vries, Fernando Alonso and himself with Jos as a potential fourth driver.

However, the elder Verstappen, who is gold-rated by the FIA in its driver categorisation, with the other three all platinum, is reluctant to take part and instead would prefer to focus on a new-found hobby.

"My love for rallying came by chance. I was invited to drive a rally car at a small circuit, and it was immediately addictive," Verstappen Senior told Verstappen.com.

"What I have with rallying now is perfect for me. As you get older, you don’t get any faster, so I’m happy with what I’m doing now."
