F1 fans have had their say on whether Aston Martin should extend Lance Stroll's stay with the team - and the consensus is clear.
The driver, and his team principal Mike Krack, have both touched upon the subject in recent weeks, including Stroll's impassioned defence of his place at the Silverstone-based outfit.
Stroll has made it clear in both the media and internally at Aston Martin he would like to stay as part of the F1 team. Whether that will come to fruition remains to be seen.
The 25-year-old is on a rolling contract, and there is little transparency about the structure of that deal - but it does not appear to be tied to performance or results.
Whilst Stroll undoubtedly has pace, as he has proven in the past, there has long been the perception that the Canadian is only still in F1 because his father, Lawrence Stroll, owns the team he races for.
Whether this commonly-held fan belief is accurate or not is debatable, but in a recent poll conducted by RacingNews365, over 80 percent of respondents felt that Aston Martin should not extend Stroll's contract - an overwhelming majority.
Regardless of the reasons why Aston Martin will or will not extend his stay in the F1 programme, it is clear that F1 fans think the team would be better served with a different driver alongside Fernando Alonso.
