Severe weather battered Interlagos during qualifying for the Sao Paulo Grand Prix, leading to Q3 being abandoned early.

Such was the change in conditions, it effectively went from the middle of the afternoon to 'night' in a matter of minutes, as heavy rain, high winds, and thunder and lightning hit the circuit.

A grandstand had its roof destroyed at the final corner, with F1 fortunately confirming that there were no serious injuries.

But what is the weather update for the remainder of the weekend, including the Sprint and Grand Prix itself?

RacingNews365's weather partner WeerOnline, suggests that on Saturday morning, there is 65% chance some rain showers will reach the track, but not during the times the Sprint Shootout is planned for - 11am local time.

The threat of rain reduces in the afternoon, meaning dry on-track running, with a maximum temperature of 28 degrees, and a moderate westerly wind, which is a cross-wind from the driver's right-hand side while climbing the hill from Turn 12.

Humidity is expected to be around 65%.
