Perez and Zhou at odds after frightening near miss

Zhou Guanyu suffered a high-speed spin during the second free practice session and feels Sergio Perez is to blame.

Zhou Guanyu has pinned the blame on Sergio Perez following his high-speed spin during second free practice in Hungary.

Zhou found himself in a spin on the exit of Turn 4 during a hot lap and narrowly avoided collecting the Red Bull driver ahead.

The Stake F1 driver immediately moved to complain about Perez over team radio, feeling the 34-year-old was directly responsible for the spin.

His opinion was unchanged after the session as he declared the dirty air from Perez's car unsettled his car.

“He was not in the right place on my lap,” Zhou said..

“I hit the dirty air, it's not like I made a mistake in that corner. I was on the kerb, just about to go to the left and I saw the Red Bull ahead.

“I hit the dirty air and that was it. It was a big moment, I'm glad to have saved it. But honestly at that corner, it's better to stay on the left-hand side.”

Perez, however, stated he did all he could to get out of Zhou's way after being informed over team radio that he was on a fast lap.

“I knew he was coming so I moved out of the way,” he said. “When I saw him spinning, I had to go to the left quite quickly to avoid him.

“Luckily I managed to avoid him and I didn't have any damage.”
