Pascal Wehrlein has described his crucial victory in the opening race of the Formula E season finale as "perfect", with the German now leading the championship after winning in London.
Wehrlein started the penultimate race of the season in third but was overtaken by Norman Nato on the opening lap. He saved energy for a while, before charging his way through the top places to claim the lead of the race.
When in the lead, Wehrlein had an energy advantage which saw him build a comfortable gap to Mitch Evans. There were some late nerves following a safety car in the closing laps but Wehrlein held on to get the job done.
It was a manic race in London, although this is not how Wehrlein saw it in the front of the field.
"Probably not so much but I saw all the chaos behind and, obviously, the cars when they crash are quite loud," Wehrlein told select media including RacingNews365.
"Exiting Turns 3 into Turn 4, so many times I just heard cars colliding and also in Turn 16. So I guess it was a chaotic race.
But I think in the front, it was not that chaotic. A shame I lost out at the start to Norman, that was not ideal. But yeah, the plan was just to save a bit of energy, make the moves at the right time and then bring it home.
"It got a bit closer in the end again, with the safety car and full course yellow, in the end, yeah, was fine."

Porsche 'deserved win'
Wehrlein has jumped from third to first in the championship after winning in London and has a three-point lead over Evans, who finished seventh.
It is all to play for in the final race of the season on Sunday, with Wehrlein being in the perfect position.
Porsche aced its strategy and reacted quickly to the many yellow flags and safety cars, leaving Wehlein proud of the Stuttgart-based squad.
"Ideally, I would have had a great start and maybe went into the lead earlier than when when I did," added Wehrlein.
"But you can never plan races before. You try to make a strategy, but also the team needs to be very quick and react to the current situation.
"I think today was perfect what we did, and yeah, well deserved win."
