Max Verstappen believes the fact that Mercedes had a "s**t" Italian Grand Prix was a reason behind Toto Wolff's Wikipedia comment about his record-breaking 10th straight win.
The Dutchman has been enjoying a highly dominant campaign and is en route to his third title in F1, and has won the last 10 Grands Prix stretching from Miami to Italy, and broke Sebastian Vettel's tally of nine at Monza.
But Mercedes' Team Principal Wolff played down the relevance of the record, suggesting that the statistic was "for Wikipedia"
Verstappen has stated that Wolff's negative comment was due to him being annoyed over Mercedes' lacklustre performance at the Italian Grand Prix, where George Russell was fifth and Lewis Hamilton sixth behind all four cars from Red Bull and Ferrari.

"I'm not disappointed in that but they had a s*** race so probably he was pissed off with their performance," Verstappen told media including RacingNews365 when asked about Wolff's comment.
"He almost sounds like he's an employee of our team sometimes, but luckily [he is] not.
"I think it's just important that you focus on your own team. That's what we do. That's what we did in the past when we were behind them and when they were dominating.
"You should be able to appreciate when a team is doing really well, which I think we've done in the past because it worked also as a kind of inspiration.
"To see someone that dominant was very impressive at the time. We knew that we just had to work harder and try to be better, to try to get to that level.
"Now that we are there, we are very happy of course, and we are enjoying the moment."
