Mick Schumacher has named one of the traits from George Russell and Lewis Hamilton that he has taken while on the sidelines.

The German was out of a drive when Haas elected to replace him with fellow compatriot Nico Hulkenberg for the 2023 season, with Schumacher making the switch to Mercedes as their reserve driver.

From there he earned high praise from Team Principal Toto Wolff, who believes he brings a "tremendous advantage" while being in the simulator and helping out with car development.

Schumacher: Lewis and George set the bar

When asked about what he thinks he has learned most while being on the sidelines, Schumacher told media, including RacingNews365: "I know as a driver now, much more what I want from my team around me.

"From what I feel like, but also what I'm worth and what I can bring to the team.

"Obviously, going into my first year in Formula 1, it's kind of hard to know exactly what should be my position and how far can I go with my comments and everything.

"Having worked with Lewis and George for one year now, I kind of know how high this bar set and how far I can go. So I think I have no problem with sharing my information in the future."

Schumacher will contest the World Endurance Championship for the 2024 season with Alpine as part of their Hypercar lineup, something which drew comparisons to his father Michael Schumacher.

The seven-time F1 World Champion also raced in sports cars during his career, contesting the World Sportscar Championship in 1991 for Sauber-Mercedes.

"I always found there was a lot of coincidences, which kind of seemed similar to my dad's career," said Schumacher.

"Obviously now I'm going back to sports cars myself, I think that it's an interesting chapter from my side for my career."
