As the F1 musical chairs nears its end for 2025, it appears increasingly likely that for a third straight year, Mick Schumacher will miss out on a seat.
After being dumped by Haas at the end of 2022, F2 champion Schumacher joined Mercedes as a reserve driver, but has not been called upon to deputise for Lewis Hamilton or George Russell.
Schumacher was touted as a potential replacement for Hamilton as he heads to Ferrari, but it appears Andrea Kimi Antonelli - Mercedes' F2 protege - will get the 2025 nod.
Elsewhere, Jack Doohan was given the seat at Alpine as a rookie alongside Pierre Gasly, whilst Williams boss James Vowles looked and enquired about Liam Lawson and Antonelli when trying to jettison Logan Sargeant.
In the end, Franco Colapinto will replace Sargeant, meaning unless Schumacher can secure the second Stake/Audi seat, he will not be on the full-time grid in 2025.
But does this spell the end of his career?
