Lewis Hamilton has asserted he is unfazed after a chance to work with Adrian Newey at Ferrari next year failed to materialise.

Newey announced earlier this year that he would depart Red Bull in early 2025, sparking a race across the F1 paddock for his signature.

The British engineer opted to join Aston Martin as he turned down all other offers - including interest from Ferrari that would have seen him work with seven-time F1 champion Hamilton next year.

With 25 titles to his name, the British engineer is widely regarded as one of the greatest F1 car designers.

When asked by media including RacingNews365 if he was disappointed at not being able to work with Newey, Hamilton said: “Honestly, no.

“I feel like whilst I mentioned before that it would have been an honour to work with Adrian, I’ve been privileged to work with two championship-winning teams that didn't have Adrian.

“I think probably any team would have been happy to have had him.

“But at the end of the day, he had to do what was best for him. It doesn't change anything for me, or my focus on the next move [to Ferrari].

“So I still believe 100 per cent that there's lots we can do.”
