Pierre Gasly has escaped punishment from the FIA at the Sao Paulo Grand Prix after he was unable to log into a video meeting due to a "failure of wireless connection."

The Alpine driver was summoned to visit the stewards following allegedly being late to the Friday FIA drivers' meeting.

In the initial document, it confirmed it was for an "alleged breach of Article 20.1 of the FIA Formula One Sporting Regulations – Failure to attend the drivers’ meeting at the scheduled time."

The Frenchman's tardiness was explained to the stewards, who deemed no further action was the correct response.

The official decision document confirmed: "The Stewards heard from the driver of Car 10 (Pierre Gasly) and the team representative.

"The team representative explained that the driver attempted to log into the video meeting but was unable to do so due to a failure of the wireless connection. The team provided a printout of the error messages from the system. The Stewards are satisfied that a genuine attempt was made to attend the meeting. The driver and team representative agreed to meet with the Race Director to obtain any information that may have been missed in the first part of the meeting.

"Accordingly the Stewards take no further action."
