Aston Martin technical director Dan Fallows has detailed the “creative” way Adrian Newey is able to design and develop F1 cars.
Newey will join Aston Martin in March, 2025 as its managing technical partner following his exit from the Red Bull team.
The 65-year-old will reunite with Fallows who joined Aston Martin in 2022 after 15 years working with Newey at Red Bull.
With Newey holding vast experience throughout various F1 eras, Fallows insisted Aston Martin can draw upon his outside-the-box thinking when it comes to designing a car.
“It's amazing - he’s somebody who really prioritises the creative process,” Fallows exclusively told RacingNews365. “And I think that's something we sometimes forget about F1.
“We sort of believe that the engineering side of it is a meat grinder of ideas. We all have to take the time out to do the things that make us creative and make us able to solve those problems.
“And that really works for him. He sees things in a different way because he's had a background in looking at things in two dimensions. He finds that very easy to do.”

Newey's arrival at Aston Martin next year will allow him to have a significant impact on the development of the 2026 car, which will be constructed under a new set of technical regulations.
Aston Martin is hoping to make a significant step forward after slipping into the midfield pack this season.
Fallows is confident Newey will offer a new way of thinking when it comes to car design as it looks to propel up the pecking order.
“Those of us who've grown up with sort of more modern techniques find it much easier to visualise things in that domain,” Fallows added.
“Having worked with him for quite a long time, he visualises things in a very different way to maybe some of us who came along a bit afterwards.
“But he definitely gets there in the end, and he finds out the most creative way to work. And I think ultimately, that's what you have to what you have to do.”
