Mitch Evans will start the opening race of the Portland E-Prix double-header from pole position, after defeating Norman Nato in the final.

Nato did well to secure second given that he has a 10-place grid penalty, which will promote Jake Hughes onto the front row. Hughes qualified in third, after himself and Robin Frijns were defeated in the duels.

Championship leader Nick Cassidy and his closest rival Pascal Wehrlein were both knocked out in the group stage, as was reigning world champion Jake Dennis.

Lucas di Grassi did make the duels, but starts outside the top eight due to a six-place grid penalty. Sam Bird also has a five-place grid penalty.
