Jake Hughes secured pole position for the second race of the Formula E Shanghai E-Prix after defeating Stoffel Vandoorne by one-thousandth of a second.

The time difference between the two drivers at the Shanghai International Circuit matched the record for the closest duel, yet it was Vandoorne who had to settle for P2.

Antonio Felix da Costa and Nyck de Vries were both eliminated in the semi-finals but will start third and fourth, whilst championship leader Nick Cassidy and Saturday's winner Mitch Evans start fifth and sixth.

Cassidy's closest title rival, Pascal Wehrlein, will start from the seventh row of the grid.
