Max Verstappen has asserted he lost respect for George Russell following their incident during qualifying on Saturday in Qatar.

Verstappen was issued a one-place grid penalty for the Qatar Grand Prix after being deemed to have driven too slowly during Q3, with Russell forced to take avoiding action as he approached the rear of the Red Bull.

Ocon first-lap crash ends Alpine career

Esteban Ocon is set to depart the Alpine F1 team early following his retirement from the Qatar Grand Prix.

Ocon was eliminated on the opening lap of the race at the Lusail International Circuit following contact from Haas' Nico Hulkenberg.

Max Verstappen has won the Qatar Grand Prix, taking his second win in three races.

The Dutchman controlled the race from start to finish and crossed the line ahead of Charles Leclerc in second place.

McLaren demand FIA 'do better' after damaging Norris penalty

McLaren team principal Andrea Stella has demanded that the FIA "do better", following Lando Norris' "peculiar" penalty in the Qatar Grand Prix. 

Norris sat in second behind Max Verstappen for the majority of the race at the Lusail International Circuit, before being punished with a 10-second stop/go penalty on lap 44/57.

Desolate Norris 'fucked up' in Qatar yellow flag mishap

Lando Norris conceded that he “fucked up” after not lifting for a double-waved yellow flag during the Qatar Grand Prix.

Norris was on course for a second-place result in Qatar and place McLaren on the brink of its first constructors' championship in 26 years.
