Max Verstappen has called on the FIA to issue a definitive clarification on the front and rear wings of McLaren's F1 car.

Earlier this month the FIA determined that all teams were compliant with the technical regulations after questions were raised over McLaren's front wing, which appeared to flex at high speed.

Following Oscar Piastri's victory at the Azerbaijan Grand Prix, onboard videos surfaced which appeared to show the rear wing flexing along the straights.

The FIA has suggested that it could make alterations to the technical regulations if it judges McLaren's car goes beyond what is deemed acecptable.

“Of course, I've seen the footage,” Verstappen told media including RacingNews365

“That's the beautiful side of social media, everyone has the video ready and then a lot of discussion is made.

“It’s quite clear that it's moving at speed. It might be smart, it might not be smart.”

McLaren is currently riding a strong wave of form as its result in Baku allowed it to jump Red Bull for the lead in the constructors' championship.

As the title fight heats up with just seven races to go, Verstappen hopes to see a conclusive answer from the FIA in the near future.

“At the end of the day, it's up to the FIA to decide if it's illegal or not,” he said.

“Baku is not the first time that it was used, so there were other tracks as well. I guess it's important to come with a clarification. But that's not only on the rear wing. It's the front wing as well.

“What is allowed? How much is it allowed to bend? All these kind of things. So we just have to wait and see.”
