Adjusted 2024 F1 championship standings after Verstappen Brazilian GP sprint penalty

Max Verstappen suffered a two-point blow to his F1 drivers' title lead after Lando Norris won the Brazilian Grand Prix sprint. 

Norris secured victory whilst Verstappen claimed third, with Oscar Piastri finding himself as the filling between the title rivals in second. 

The victory for Norris reduced Verstappen's championship lead to 45 points, ahead of Sunday's race. 

McLaren's one-two extended the Woking-based team's lead in the constructors' standings, with Ferrari having finished fourth and fifth. 

Update: Verstappen was later demoted to fourth, with Leclerc elevated to the podium, after the Red Bull driver was found guilty for a VSC infringement and handed a five-second time penalty after the race.

The Dutchman undercut the minimum delta time by a little over six-tenths of a second as he applied pressure to Piastri prior to the restart on the final lap.
