The Formula 1 race in Sao Paulo, Brazil is held at the Autodromo Jose Carlos Pace, which is traditionally referred to as Interlagos due to the neighbourhood it is located in. The track has hosted the event outside of a short stint at Jacarepagua in 1978 and most of the 1980s. Previously referred to as the Brazilian Grand Prix, 2021 will see the event renamed as the Sao Paulo Grand Prix.

Alain Prost remains the winningest driver at the event with six victories, though home fans have seen a Brazilian win on nine different occasions, with Ayrton Senna’s victory in 1991 perhaps the most memorable. The 2019 race saw Max Verstappen win his third race of the season ahead of first-time podium finishers Pierre Gasly and Carlos Sainz.
