Lewis Hamilton now sits atop the F1 Drivers' Championship following a sparkling fight back in Hungary that saw him finish second.
The Briton initially finished third, but Sebastian's Vettel disqualification means he now sits on 195 points, eight more than rival Max Verstappen who lost the championship lead after a miserable day at the Hungaroring. After Red Bull decided to change his Honda power unit prior to the start of the race, the Dutchman's afternoon was compromised on Lap 1.
That's because Valtteri Bottas, who picked up a five-place grid penalty for his actions, collided with Lando Norris after a braking error heading into Turn 1. Bottas and Norris were forced to retire, along with Sergio Perez, and while Verstappen continued despite suffering serious damage to his RB16B, he was a non-factor the rest of the race.
As for the Constructors' Championship, Mercedes are now ahead of Red Bull after 11 races. The Silver Arrows now sit on 303 points, 12 more than the Milton Keynes outfit.
Just behind them the battle between McLaren and Ferrari shows no signs of slowing down as both teams now have 163 points.
