Max Verstappen made a perfect start to the Canadian Grand Prix weekend, by topping first practice at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve.
The Dutchman has won the last three races in Montreal and topped FP1 after setting a 1m 13.193 on the C6 compound.
It was a strong session for Williams, with Alex Albon and Carlos Sainz having secured second and third. The top three was split by just 0.082s.
George Russell and Lewis Hamilton completed the top five, whilst Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri ended the session in seventh and 14th, respectively. The session featured one red flag, following a costly crash for Charles Leclerc after 15 minutes.
