Max Verstappen lashed out at Formula 1 host Tom Clarkson during the post-qualifying drivers' press conference, following a question surrounding .
The Dutchman narrowly missed out on pole position for the Canadian Grand Prix after a stunning lap by Russell.
It means that Russell and Verstappen will join each other on the front row at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, in the first race since the pair's clash in Barcelona.
That clash saw the four-time world champion receive a 10-second time penalty and three penalty points, putting him just one penalty point away from a race ban.
The topic of a possible race ban for Verstappen has dominated the headlines in Montreal, with Verstappen having been asked about it in the opening minutes of the press conference.
He was furious to be asked about the topic, having already faced several questions on the Spanish GP incident ahead of qualifying.
Clarkson began asking Verstappen about his penalty points, before the 27-year-old interrupted and said: "I don't need to hear it again. It's really pissing me off.
"I mean, you speaking about it on Thursday, it's such a waste of time, it's very childish. So that's why I also don't want to say too much, because it's really annoying this world that we live in."
Later in the press conference, Verstappen was asked by media from the floor if he felt more pressure heading into a race with the threat of a race ban looming large, to which he responded without saying a word, and only by raising both thumbs into the air.
