Lando Norris has suggested it would not be right to implement measures to slow Red Bull following its strong start to the 2024 Formula 1 season.

Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez have finished first and second respectively at the opening two rounds in Bahrain and Saudi Arabia.

Red Bull's strong start to the campaign follows its highly dominant season last year when it won 21 out of the 22 races staged.

During the two races that have been staged so far this year, Verstappen has been unchallenged in a similar theme to the drives that took him to his third F1 title last year.

When asked by RacingNews365 if Red Bull's season-starting form is a worry, Norris said: “Of course watching, you wish there were more battles at the front. I can't do anything about it.

“Max is doing a good job, Red Bull is doing a good job. You can't discourage any of that.”

Norris against artificial intervention

Red Bull has enjoyed unrivalled dominance since the start of the 2022 season when new technical regulations came into play.

It has won 89 per cent of all races in that time and now looks on course to enjoy another success-filled year.

However, Norris has warned against introducing artificial measures to slow Red Bull and aid the chasing competition.

“Is it as exciting as what everyone would like? Absolutely not,” Norris said. “But it's the same in any other sport.

“If someone's doing a better job, they're going to win.

“So even football if one team is doing much better all the time you can just go ‘oh it’s boring now, [let’s] change something.

“In sport, if someone's doing better they deserve it because they've been smarter and cleverer. It's as simple as that, it's all deserved and don't take anything away from it.”
