Facing being beaten by Max Verstappen, McLaren elected to run long with both cars in a bid to swap to soft tyres for a late charge.

Oliver Bearman edges closer to F1 ban after Carlos Sainz collision

Oliver Bearman has moved to within TWO points of an F1 race ban following further sanction from the stewards at the Italian Grand Prix.

Approaching the second chicane, Bearman was on the inside of Williams' Carlos Sainz, with the two colliding through the corner, and being placed under investigation.

Lando Norris has stated it is “stupid to assume” McLaren has set a precedent of implementing team orders when something goes wrong for one of its drivers.

Norris dropped behind Piastri late on at the Italian Grand Prix following his slow pit stop, which occurred amid a problem with one of the mechanic's wheel gun.
