Mitch Evans will join Formula E's centurion club this weekend in tandem with the factory Jaguar outfit at the inaugural Tokyo E-Prix.

The Tokyo metropolis will serve as a backdrop for a historic moment in Evans and Jaguar's Formula E journeys which started together in October 2016 in Hong Kong.

The 29-year-old and the iconic British manufacturer have since formed one of the most formidable partnerships in Formula E history.

For the last few years, Evans has been regarded as a title contender, which has always kept Jaguar in the spotlight.

The New Zealander has matured with the team, unsurprising given he made his Formula E debut for the Coventry-based outfit at a very young age.

"I was just 22 years old when I first raced for Jaguar TCS Racing, it’s crazy how fast time goes," said Evans.

"During our time together, we have been on a huge journey of both learning and growth, and I couldn’t be prouder of what we have achieved.

"Everyone in the team has helped me to develop both on and off the track, and I’m truly grateful for their ongoing support."

Ultimate goal

After 99 races, 26 podiums – including 10 wins – and six pole positions, Evans and Jaguar have moved closer to becoming champions year-on-year.

The ultimate goal for the pairing ahead of Formula E's first trip to Japan, is to take "another step" toward claiming the crown.

"After 99 races in Formula E, we are still targeting our first world championship winner’s trophy, for both myself as a driver and for the team, after being so close a number of times," added Evans.

"Hopefully, my 100th race at the Tokyo E-Prix is one that takes us to take another step closer toward that goal."
