Max Verstappen has been overwhelmingly backed by Formula 1 fans to quit Red Bull next year, ending his chances of breaking a Lewis Hamilton record with the Austrian outfit.
Lewis Hamilton currently holds the record for most races with one team, having competed in 246 grands prix for Mercedes.
Verstappen is moving towards this record with Red Bull, following the recent Hungarian GP which marked his 200th race for the Milton Keynes-based outfit.
If the four-time world champion remains with Red Bull for the entirety of his contract, which expires at the end of 2028, he will comfortably surpass Hamilton's number of races for the Silver Arrows.
However, the Dutchman has faced much speculation surrounding his future, and recently had to confirm in Hungary that he would remain with Red Bull for 2026.
To surpass Hamilton's record, Verstappen must compete in the 2027 F1 season for Red Bull. There is uncertainty over whether the 27-year-old will remain with the team for that campaign.
With Red Bull becoming its own powertrain supplier from next year, many expect Verstappen to leave the squad should it struggle, especially as other big teams will have a seat available.
In a RacingNews365 poll, a majority 66.4% expect Verstappen to leave Red Bull and not beat Hamilton's record, something only 20% believe will be beaten.
