Yuki Tsunoda has revealed that he will consider being "more cautious" on the opening lap of the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in the future, following his crash with Pierre Gasly.
Tsunoda collided with his former AlphaTauri team-mate at Turn 4 on the first lap at the Jeddah Corniche Circuit, causing both drivers to retire from the race.
Tsunoda made contact with the left-rear tyre of Gasly, who was on the Red Bull driver's outside. Both drivers span as a result and collided with the wall.
Gasly retired immediately, whilst Tsunoda nursed his car back to the garage where it was, ultimately, retired as well.
The stewards did investigate the incident, but decided to take no further action due to neither driver having been predominately at fault.
Tsunoda shared an identical opinion, but noted that he will treat future races at the circuit differently.
"I can't fully blame him, it's not like he turned into me completely," Tsunoda told select media including RacingNews365.
"At the same time, we knew that's the tightest corner on this track, and if you go side by side based on our experience, we know what's going to happen on the first lap and with less grip.
"Obviously, for myself, I was fully in control. It's not like I was carrying a lot of speed and lost control. I was right behind Carlos [Sainz]. It's not like I was almost crashing to him.
"So, I did as much as I could to avoid it, but just, unfortunately, tightest corner on the track, less grip and first lap. We should take it a step slightly more cautious, I guess both sides, I think."
