Oscar Piastri claimed pole position for the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, following a qualifying session which lasted over 90 minutes.
The championship leader set a strong 1m 14.670 on his final Q3 lap, to deny Max Verstappen pole. Verstappen will start from second, ahead of George Russell and Lando Norris.
Fernando Alonso secured fifth ahead of Carlos Sainz in sixth, in what is an all-Spanish third row. Both Ferraris and home hero Kimi Antonelli faced Q2 eliminations.
Two red flags were flown in Q1, following a terrifying crash for Yuki Tsunoda and a further accident for Franco Colapinto.
