Lando Norris will lead an all-McLaren front row off the line for the start of the Hungarian Grand Prix as he goes in search of another grand prix victory.

Rain impacted the qualifying session on Saturday and there are lingering clouds over the circuit today, making temperatures slightly cooler than originally forecast.

But what race strategies will be in play during the race as the drivers look to climb to the top step of the podium?

Pirelli has outlined that a two-stop strategy is undoubtedly the fastest route to the finish line.

A couple of options exist for the teams, however Pirelli advises starting on the Medium compound is ideal.

The opening pit window would span lap 16 to 21, offering the chance for drivers to swap to the Hard compound and endure a longer stint on the C3 compound, after which they would switch back to the Medium tyre.

In this option, Red Bull and Max Verstappen hold the upper hand over McLaren as they possess two fresh sets of Mediums, while both McLaren drivers have just one new set available.

Ferrari also has two fresh sets of Medium tyres for their drivers.

An alternate strategy also exists that would see the driver start on the Soft compound and complete a shorter stint before two runs on the Hard compound.

However, should they run their first Hard compound stint deep into the race, it opens up the possibility to switch to the Medium tyre to the end of the race.
