Video: The crash that halted Kubica's F1 career

It was 10 years ago today that Robert Kubica's Formula 1 career came to a grinding halt. The Polish driver took part in the Andorra Rally during the winter break, but he lost control of his car and crashed heavily into the barriers.

Rober Kubica's career changed forever in a crash on this day back in 2011. The Polish driver suffered serious injuries to his right arm, with fears that he would never be able to use it again. Yet somehow he managed to return to the Formula 1 grid in 2019 after an eight-year recovery. In the first video below you can watch a computer animation of the crash, followed by live footage of the wreckage in the second.
