Max Verstappen has escaped an Austrian Grand Prix penalty even before on-track action gets underway after a stewards summons.
The world champion was selected as one of the five drivers to be present during the official FIA press conference at the Red Bull Ring, but was late arriving to join Charles Leclerc, Logan Sargeant, Zhou Guanyu and Yuki Tsunoda.
He arrived around 15 minutes into the session, before going on to answer the bulk of the questions, including confirming he will still be at Red Bull in 2025 after speculation earlier in the season around his future.
For the late arrival, he was investigated by the stewards, but during their investigation, it was found that Verstappen had suffered transportation issues on his way to the circuit, with the team informing the FIA of the delay to the arrival.
As such, the stewards felt every "reasonable measure" was taken, and even though the rule was ostensibly broken, no further action was taken.
