Ferrari has been pinpointed as a potential key which could help Lando Norris defeat Max Verstappen in the F1 title race.

With six grands prix remaining and 180 points left on the board, Norris finds himself 52 behind Verstappen, although his McLaren has become the superior car compared to Red Bull's RB20.

A big floor upgrade is slated for Red Bull for the upcoming United States Grand Prix, although failure to get it working in the sole practice session could prove costly with it being a sprint event with the remainder of the on-track sessions that weekend being competitive qualifying or races.

Ferrari's Charles Leclerc is third in the standings, 86 points behind Verstappen and is not deemed a realistic threat to the Red Bull driver.

But former Haas F1 boss Guenther Steiner feels Leclerc and team-mate Carlos Sainz could yet play a crucial role in the fight between the Dutch and British drivers.

"I give it 60-40 for Lando," Steiner exclusively told RacingNews365 when asked who was his title favourite.

"I think the momentum has gone [towards Norris], but where Lando needs a little bit of help is from Ferrari.

"If they take points away from Max...like should have happened in Singapore, but as they didn't qualify to their liking, they missed out on a [big result].

"Otherwise, if they would have got one or two cars between Max and Lando, immediately that is a big points difference, and then it is a different position.

"That's why I give it 60-40 to Lando because he does need a little bit of help."
