FIA Sporting Director Steve Nielsen has left his role which oversees all of F1 sporting matters for the governing body.
RacingNews365 understands that Nielsen has left the role after being appointed in January this year.
He was a key figure in the FIA's reshuffle of their F1 structure for 2023, having been put in charge of improving the FIA's race control operations.
George Russell, who is head of the Grand Prix Drivers Association, has previously praised the work of Nielsen in consulting drivers on important sporting matters.
Nelson joined the FIA from Formula One Management (FOM) having previously held senior positions within Benetton, Renault, Toro Rosso, Lotus Renault, Honda, and Williams.
When FIA President Mohammed Ben Sulayem conducted a review of the governing body's internal procedures, a new structure was put in place which saw Nielsen reporting to Single-Seater Director Nikolas Tombazis.
The FIA did not respond when contacted for comment from RacingNews365.
