Ferrari has announced that Carlos Sainz will not be present during the Thursday of the Mexico City Grand Prix weekend due to illness.

The Spanish driver is feeling unwell, although it is nothing too serious with the team expecting him to be back for the first day of track running on Friday ahead of the 19th round of the season.

Sainz finished fourth on the road last time out at the United States Grand Prix - but was promoted to third post-race after Lewis Hamilton was disqualified from second place due to excessive plank wear.
