Red Bull has lost the opportunity to break an F1 record Ferrari has held since 2013 with its horror show in Austria.
After getting caught out by yellow flags in Q3, Max Verstappen was only seventh on the grid for Red Bull's home race at the Red Bull Ring, with team-mate Yuki Tsunoda performing even worse down in 18th.
The race did not get any better for the team with Verstappen eliminated on the first lap after a crash with Kimi Antonelli, whilst Tsunoda was classified last.
In failing to score a point, Red Bull's run of 77 points scoring races stretching back to the 2022 Saudi Arabian Grand Prix came to an end, four short of Ferrari's all-time record.
This was set between the 2010 German and 2014 Singapore GPs, coming to an end after Fernando Alonso retired and Kimi Raikkonen finished 12th in the Japanese GP.
Ferrari snatched the record from McLaren at the 2013 Abu Dhabi GP with its 65th consecutive points finish, and has held it ever since.
With Red Bull set back to zero, McLaren is now the team with the longest points scoring streak, at 49, as of the Austrian GP.
Its run started in Austria in 2023, and if it is to beat Ferrari's record of 81, it must get to the 2026 Mexico City Grand Prix, round 20 of next season's calendar.
