Poll: Are the new F1 regulations an improvement?

The F1 regulations for 2026 and beyond have been announced by the FIA, with substantial changes being introduced.

The revamped power unit and chassis rules will not only make the cars look different, the overall aim is to promote better, closer racing and a more entertaining championship.

The cars will be smaller and lighter, which is something fans and paddock insiders alike have long been calling for.

FIA single seater director Nikolas Tombazis has called the changes a "moderate revolution", contending that the suite of new rules should help "reshuffle" the F1 pecking order.

The hope is that by introducing new cars just four years after the contemporary era of ground-effects in F1 began, the series can correct some of the mistakes it made in 2022.

Whilst it is still early in the regulations cycle - some 18 months before the cars even meet a track - we can still form first impressions and an indication as to whether F1 is headed in the right direction with the new approach.

So, with that in mind, it is prudent to understand what the initial thoughts are in the 2026 F1 regulations.
