Charles Leclerc completed the first day of a two-day Pirelli tyre test at Mugello, the Italian circuit owned by Ferrari which hosted a Grand Prix in 2020.
The Italian tyre manufacturer was gathering further data for its 2025 compounds, with Leclerc having driven 630 kilometres.
120 laps were completed by the 26-year-old, who retired last weekend from the Canadian Grand Prix.
Comparative tests on different compounds were conducted by Pirelli, Ferrari and Leclerc, for the tyre supplier's 2025 constructions.
Data on the hard compound was specifically targeted by Pirelli, with its main goal having been to understand how to reduce overheating.

In what was the fifth Pirelli tyre test of 2024, the afternoon session was impacted by wet weather, although this offered an opportunity for the intermediate compound to be used.
This saw the continuation of the work which was conducted recently at the Circuit Paul Ricard, where the former host of the French Grand Prix's remote-controlled wet surface system was used.
On Friday, the SF24 will be driven by Carlos Sainz, who will take over from Leclerc.
The Spanish driver also retired at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve last weekend, following a spin at the sixth corner.
