Formula E sees record-breaking growth

Ahead of Saturday's inaugural Tokyo E-Prix, Formula E has reported record-breaking growth in viewership and fan engagement.

The all-electric series is currently in its 10th season, and revealed ahead of the campaign that they had overtaken NASCAR and become the fourth-biggest motorsport in terms of fanbase.

Formula E's growth has not steadied at all, with records being smashed across the board following the four completed rounds this year.

Across the opening four rounds, Formula E has seen a 40% growth in cumulative TV viewership. In 2023, 68 million people tuned in across the first four races, whilst 86 million have this year.

Sticking with TV audiences, Formula E's live audience has also seen an improvement. Live broadcast audiences have increased from 45 million to 61 million, representing a 37% increase.

Social media has been crucial to Formula E and the figures show it, as they have seen a 44% social media impressions increase, thanks to 351 million impressions.

Fanbase still on the rise

Video views on the championship's platforms has seen a staggering 134% improvement, courtesy of 267 million views. The company's website has also seen 28% more viewers in the first four races compared to last year, thanks to 1.2 million people.

Formula E's fanbase has also continued to grow, as it has seen a 37% increase, whilst live attendances have increased by 12%.
