BWT Alpine Formula One Team confirms that Dave Greenwood (Racing Director) has been assigned as team representative for administrative purposes with all relevant stakeholders. Whereas Flavio Briatore is fully in charge of the team, including duties previously held by Oliver Oakes
Alpine has clarified that Flavio Briatore "is fully in charge of the team," following uncertainties around the new structure following Oliver Oakes' resignation.
Oakes resigned from his post last Tuesday, two days after the Miami Grand Prix, with the team announcing at the time that executive advisor Briatore "will also be covering the duties previously performed by Oliver Oakes."
However, some confusion arose after Kimi Raikkonen's ex-race engineer Dave Greenwood, who serves a Racing Director was handed the role of 'team representative' - a title used by Stake previously to describe Alessandro Alunni Bravi, the de facto team principal.
On the eve of the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix, Alpine has moved to clarify the situation, with the following statement.
Alpine statement in full
"Alpine Formula One Team confirms that Dave Greenwood (Racing Director) has been assigned as team representative for administrative purposes with all relevant stakeholders.
Whereas Flavio Briatore is fully in charge of the team, including duties previously held by Oliver Oakes."
